The hole pattern is the figure that decides the purchase, and every card below prints it. A 5-inch disc with 8 holes fits one family of random orbital sanders, a 6-inch disc with 6 holes fits another, and a disc that does not line up with the dust ports sands blind and clogs early. Grits run from 40, which reshapes an edge, up past 1000 into polishing territory, and the big assortment boxes stack the ladder in one purchase: 110, 130 or 210 discs sorted by number.

The grinder side of the line is flap discs: 4.5-inch in Type 27 flat and Type 29 angled, sold in tens and twenties, plus 3-inch roll-lock discs for a die grinder. Around them sit the odd jobs, spindle sleeves for curved work, mesh discs that shed dust through their own weave, an 8-inch drywall disc, and wool pads for the buffing that comes after the last grit. Per-disc prices are printed on the pack cards, which is how a 100-pack argues its case.
